Using Google Analytics To Increase Traffic

For monitoring your Website traffic, you just can’t beat Google Analytics — and it’s free. It tells you the source and duration of your page hits, which pages are visited, and, above all, where the hits are coming from and what search terms led them to your site.

Why bother analyzing traffic? You need to be aware of which of your website’s pages are receiving the highest amount of traffic, and to know what is leading visitors to those pages. The pages that aren’t working should be rewritten.

To obtain more exposure for your site, figure out what referrers generate the most traffic, and tweak your site for more exposure to them.

Have you placed banners or other advertising on somebody else’s website? You can find out the success of that campaign, as well.

Reduce wasted time. Should you notice that the time you’ve spent on a traffic building system is unsuccessful, you can quit wasting your resources on it and try to find out what you are doing incorrectly, so you can rectify it.

See what keywords receive the best ranking. Conduct an investigation to discover new keywords to use in place of the ones that are not working well.

Discover which pages hold your visitors’ attention the longest and their bounce rate. The bounce rate is the amount of people who leave your website without looking at content other than the page they arrived upon. For most websites, it’s a good sign when people stay to read more of your posts and content before they exit.
