Smart Internet Marketers Dominate The Top Three Positions In The SERPs

December 8, 2009 by Jim Doughton

Every internet marketer wants to be on the first page of the Search Engine Results Pages – SERPs, for their target keywords. Marketing a website or blog is initially about getting a site indexed and then attaining a first page rank. They also want to be the first listing and will use a variety of methods to get there.

There are many internet marketing tools available to help you get ranked better. You also have to remember there are many many search engines for you to conquer. Yahoo has an index for most countries, and so does Google. These two search giants also power other indexes all over the planet.

Getting a site to rank well can be a very time consuming and difficult process, but considering what is at stake, the effort can be well worth it. After all, it is generally assumed that if you can get your site listed on the first page of the SERPs, it will pay off for you.

If you think being on the first page of the SERPs will be the solution, think again, your ranking on the page will influence traffic in a big way. Obviously the first page is better than the second page, but traffic increases as your rank increases.

Just consider the sponsored listings which appear above organic listings. These paid advertisements dilute the organic listings and push high ranking sites down the page. This may or may not be a good thing for the person searching but for marketers, it is a problem.

When your site appears above the fold, the top 3 or 4 organic results, the paid ad may push you below the initially visible page. If a human can’t see your listing right away, they have to look farther down the listings. This will not help your cause.

The SERPs also contain sponsored ads down the right side of the page. These ads compete for the click as well and reduce your traffic. It’s not enough to be on the first page, you need to be above the fold in the area that is initially viewable if you are going to maximize your opportunity.

Any query might return millions of pages from any search engine index accounting for hundreds if not thousands of SERPs. To be in the game and get your share of the search traffic, ranking in the top three or four is not only necessary, it is essential for your success.

Do You Want To Dominate The SERPs And Get In The Top Three Listings. What You WantIs A Great Internet Marketing Tool And You Will Succeed.

Paid Or Free Link Building Method – What Should You Choose?

There are many ways to build backlinks toward your website. There are ways that will cost you money and there are ways that are absolutely free to implement. Most website owners are initially interested with ideas of acquiring backlinks to their websites without having to shed a single dime out of their pocket, of course this is understandable as who would immediately prefer jumping into a solution wherein money is involved right away?

Now for those who already have quite a good understanding of off-page site optimization, then you could very well be aware at what free options are there available for you to take advantage of. You need to be very aware though that going after these free options of acquiring links is equivalent to an enormous amount of your time.

I would surely advise every starting online entrepreneur who wants to rank his or her website on the search engines to build links using free methods at first. But that should only be during the beginning periods. Once you start to accumulate as much knowledge you could about SEO and start witnessing income coming in, then you should shift to the paid options.

As long as you are familiar with doing research online, you should not find it difficult to research for paid link building options. There are various websites out there that offer link building services, some are individuals offering their freelance service while some are companies providing a wide range of link building. Even if you don’t intentionally search for link building service providers, there are lots of these companies showing up in advertisements within sites you visit.

You should be really keen at observing and getting to know the websites you encounter when you do your research. There is a wide selection of methods to choose from in acquiring links toward a website. This only means that each link building service provider you will encounter has a different kind of service to offer. Be attentive at the process being offered by a website, find out if it’s effective or not before buying their service.

The number one reason why people would want to hire link building services is to automate the process of acquiring backlinks toward their websites. If you have the budget to outsource link building and you did your research on which websites to order from, then it would definitely be a wise move to make. Contrary to the belief of many, choosing the free route isn’t always equivalent to saving money. Always remember that time is also equivalent to money. In fact, that’s why there is a saying that says “time is gold” – this is absolutely true.

Unfortunately though for a few website owners, even if they wanted very badly to find a good link building service to do it for them, they just couldn’t afford it. Well, that is absolutely understandable especially for newbies who haven’t even tasted earning a single dollar from the internet yet. For a start, you should just patiently build your links the free way, but be extra wise in choosing the methods in acquiring links. While there are ways to get links fast and easy, there are also ways where you will easily spend an hour without noticing in exchange for just a single link or two.

You could choose a method wherein you may acquire new links in just a short time. Let’s say 10 links under an hour – then that’s a good method to keep at. Do not aspire to spend your entire day building links, this could easily tire you. Do it consistently overtime, this way you don’t get beat up by the work load and you’re doing a favor for your website’s ranking as well.

Who wants more site visits? Let Freelance SEO Services show you how it’s done. If you tried every technique and still no traffic, it’s time for a Freelance SEO Expert to do the work for you.

Six Questions Informative Websites Should Answer To Keep Visitors Interested

Informative websites are those that will provide all visitors with information that they come to seek and will also keep them coming back for more. There are various online marketing strategies that are used in order to make websites not only appear more interesting, but also to draw attention to the site. Successful websites are not only informative, but they use search engine optimization to get them noticed online. Search engine optimized websites are more successful online than those that are not optimized.

Websites have to be constructed in such a way that they not only provide visitors with necessary information, but that they also make them keep coming back. A good website should be search engine optimized so that it draws visitors. Once they are at the website, however, they need to see more than just a bunch of ads if they are to keep returning.

One way to make a website more interesting and continue to answer questions for visitors is to incorporate the use of a blog. A blog can be updated regularly so that it provides users with all of the up to date information that they need.

Search engine optimized websites should also contain articles that are up to date and answer questions. Informative websites need to have constant content that is current if they want repeat visitors.

Search engine optimized websites need to have a page that will answer the most commonly asked questions for visitors right away. Every informative website should have a FAQ page.

The use of video is an important aspect when it comes to websites as well as online marketing. It is easy to incorporate video onto the site that will keep the visitors entertained, answer questions and wanting to keep coming back.

Anyone who goes to a website will want to have contact information if they have more questions. It is vital that visitors are able to contact the website for further questions.

Above all, a visitor to a website will want to know what the website can do to help them. This is the single most important question a website needs to answer to gain trust as well as encourage visitors to return to the site again and again.

Search engine optimized websites can be a great tool in the world of online marketing. But drawing visitors to the site is not enough. In addition to being user friendly and attractive to look at, informative websites have to provide visitors with the information that they seek that is current and will cause them to return to the website in the future.

An informative website is one that will provide all visitors with information that they come to seek and will also keep them coming back for more. There are various internet marketing strategies that are used in order to make websites not only appear more interesting, but also to draw attention to the site. Successful websites are not only informative, but they use search engine optimization to get them noticed online. SEO websites are more successful online than those that are not optimized. A website should be more than just an attractive looking site, it should answer questions for visitors who are drawn to the site. Good web masters understand the secrets to making a website not only more informative, but easier to find online. There are several important aspects to having a website that is informative and will make visitors want to keep coming back.

A blog is perhaps one of the easiest ways to keep a website updated with the latest information. A blog can be attached to any website and can be updated regularly with all of the latest information that your visitors will want to know and will make them keep coming back.

Informative articles should also be present on any informative website that hopes to garner attention from the public and answer questions. Articles should be search engine optimized so that they can lead people who are interested in learning more to your website.

A frequently asked questions page should be part of all SEO websites. These are the usual questions that people will normally ask about the site that can be answered right away in this type of forum.

People who have questions will want to see them addressed in video on some websites. A great deal of internet marketing today employs the use of videos to answer questions for visitors easily.

Contact information is also imperative to a good website. Those who have additional information may want to email them to you and your response will keep them returning. Most importantly, your website will want to answer the big question which is what the website can do for the visitor. Visitors will want to know why they should use your site and how you can help them.

Internet marketing is more than just about driving customers to SEO websites. It is also about making sure that the websites have something to say and answer all of the questions for the visitors. Informative websites that answer questions up front will garner more traffic as well as repeat visitation from the public.

Increase Web Site Traffic -Breakthrough Tips

August 16, 2009 by Tome Kent

I’m now going to talk about a technique that may send your auto responder into Melt Down due to the number of people subscribing to it!

This is paid advertising, or payment for a list of subscribers, and possibly could have been included in the paid traffic chapter. However I felt the subject was important enough to warrant it’s own chapter. Some people may not want to buy web site traffic, but provided you look at the costs carefully it can be very effective.

This technique is not generally known by many Internet marketers (or used by that many), and traditionally has been used by large companies only.

There are websites on the Internet that have pre-qualified lists of people waiting to join your list! You hook up with these websites and then all the subscribers within your niche market are instantly sent to your auto-responder to sign-up. How cool is that? This is literally a way to add hundreds or thousands of subscribers to your list automatically!

Remember these are people who have specifically indicated an interest in your niche market so you have qualified people ready to buy your products (with that said, some of the less reputable Co-Registration sites may send you any people from their lists, whether they have indicated an interest in your particular niche or not, so it will pay you to stay with the reputable Co-Registration providers).

Of course you will still have to actually be able to sell them your product, and sell them on yourself and your website.

You really want to have a decent auto-responder campaign up to give yourself every chance to make a customer from your sign ups (no surprises there).

The Co-Registration lists can be huge; it’s possible to get 100,000 or more people to sign up on your list. Can you imagine that! But the big lists also cost lots of money, and like any expense you really need to have a budget and know what your conversion rate is in advance before deciding on spending money on these services.

As I have mentioned elsewhere in another article on this website, it’s really important that you track your referrals, especially in the case of paid traffic, so I would suggest that you use link tracking software and/or have a completely new set of auto-responders just for the referrals from the Co-Registration websites so you can actually measure your results.

I have details of link tracking software in the Tools of the Trade resource on this website, I suggest you use Pro Track Manager (a Mike Filsaime product). This is actually a re-branded version of AdTrackz, which I happen to believe is the best Ad Tracking software currently on the Internet (in my opinion).

According to some of the gurus who use Co-Registration sites they profess that you can double your money in seven days. In other words you will get back twice what you invested in purchasing the referrals within seven days.

The other thing you really need to be careful about is ensuring that your auto-responder provider will support co-registration.

AWeber does not support co-registration, and I’ve heard tales of accounts getting deleted if they are caught to be using Co-Registration services.

The probable reason for this is that having a large number of people getting “subscribed” to your list in one hit would place a huge load on their servers.

When considering finding out more about any factor that may have an affect on search engine traffic; it pays to do a little research first as a good way to move forward fast!

If your looking to use Co-Registration, I suggest you look at both GetResponse (Auto Responders) and Get Subscriber (for Co-Registration services).

These sites actively support each other so you can be sure there are no issues using them both together.

Co-Registration could just be the jump-start your website needs, so I suggest you check out these websites and read up on Co-Registration services. This could be a great way to attract site traffic.

How To Develop Multiple Keyword Phrases Naturally

June 23, 2009 by Gill A Taylor

It’s getting increasingly harder and harder to get on the first page of search engine results for single or very popular keywords. A simple strategy that still works is using long tail keywords in your SEO, or search engine optimization. Long tail keywords are keyword phrases that have 2 or more words that act as one keyword. Some examples of long tail keyword, or multiple keyword, phrases are:

* multiple keyword phrase research

* long tail keyword phrase search

* long tail keyword in internet marketing

* what is a long tail keyword? (It’s a question, but still a long tail keyword phrase)

Using long tail keyword phrases in your marketing and SEO has the following advantages:

* You don’t pay a cent to use this strategy

* The person doing the search has already indicated that they are interested in that specific subject, so less initial marketing is needed

* The traffic conversion rate is higher, that means that the people that search you are more likely to click your link, or buy your product

* The competition on longer phrases of keywords is not as stiff as for single word keywords

* The search engines will rank you higher for that phrase then for a single keyword, simply due to this competition

Probably the simplest way to long tail keyword development is simply just to write about a specific subject extensively. What we did with our site is to write a whole series of articles about traffic generation. Keyword research was discussed in one entry. Keyword links in another. The search engine optimization article naturally flowed into the SEO spider likes and dislikes article.

All these articles are different, but they hover around the same concept. Long tail keyword development happens very naturally when you discuss a broader subject like traffic generation. This is simply because you have to speak the same language, use the same keyword phrases if you will, to get the whole message across.

It is a good idea to first do some initial keyword phrase research, just to give you a solid foundation to work from. Multiple keyword research is also referred to as long tail keyword phrase research, and is done exactly the same as normal keyword research. Google has a great tool called Keyword Tool that you can use. First let’s use it and just do a search for the word ‘keyword’ and have a peek at the results.

On the left hand side of the Google Keyword Tool Page is a bar indicated how much competition there is for that keyword. And this is why long tail keywords are so effective. The longer the tail of the key phrase, the less the competition. And someone who searches for ‘get traffic with article marketing’ is much more interested in the subject then someone that just searches ‘get traffic’. Also have a look at the total amount of searches. Ideally you want a long tail keyword phrase with little competition and many searches a month.

Now get a bunch of associated keyword phrases and store them somewhere on your PC. Now when you start doing your articles or blog entries you should incorporate all those 3 to 5 word keyword phrases into the headings, main body and resource boxes. Follow this up with another related article and use some of the related long tail keywords. Doing this frequently and systematically will eventually improve your search engine ranking and get you the traffic you want.

Creating Yourself A Presence On The Web

June 3, 2009 by Reginald D Macafferty

It’s probably the biggest information sharing medium in history, over 1.3 billion people use it, yes you guessed it, I’m talking of course about the Internet.

It is the ideal place to go to buy/sell things, to conduct research, to contact people and to do an endless list of other things. There are hundreds of traditional methods of doing things that are slowly being phased out by the Internet.

So surely if the Internet is that big it’s nearly impossible to obtain a noticeable presence without getting lost among the crowd?

To be honest yes, this is exactly the case. The Internet is so vast that it has almost become a double edged blade in that, yes there are millions of customers out there to be had, but the chances are that there are a million other people trying to get them and you will be lost among the crowd. Or if you simply don’t bother with an on-line presence and stick to traditional methods, you may well get sunk by the competition that do use on-line techniques.

But with all the fast moving new technology on the internet, how do you stay afloat? Well, step one goes without saying, create a web site, or get one created for you.

Just having a website though, is not enough to get you noticed online. Hundreds of millions of people have websites and you need to get yours noticed above the others.

One method of achieving this is to employ an effective advertising plan, placing ads for your website in as many places on the web as possible. You will also want a top search engine optimization service. If you intend to get someone to build your site for you, I suggest getting someone who knows about SEO to do it so that they will make it readable to search engines which is really, the most important thing in promoting a website.

In conclusion, in order to acquire a great presence on the net, there are a few slightly varied ways of doing it, but they all boil down to pretty much the same thing, search engine optimisation and online advertising. Finding an SEO company that will build you a site as well as optimising it for you may cost a bit more than you wanted to spend (but it may not) but I really would advise it over any other way. After that you simply have to find some good advertising space, preferably that offers you something else as well, like a load of links to your site or something.

Web Promotion in a Recession

May 21, 2009 by Dave Holland

During this time of economic downturn, when business is diminishing and your counting every penny, it is essential to invest in your business’s future growth. The last 10 years have seen the world wide web grow into a whole new medium that wasn’t around during the last recession. Business is booming unbelievably online and the rate of the internet’s growth is matched only by the contraction rate of traditional enterprises.

The internet is primarily seen by the majority as a place to find either the solution to a problem, and answer, or the cheapest of an item. It is the perfect window shopping venue as it allows you to compare many shops in a few clicks. This has been a boon for many, but for others who do not sell on price it has worked against them.

One thing we know for sure is that the internet has traffic, and traffic is fairly easily measurable. We know where this traffic goes and what the people are looking for, and based on that, we can place websites in their path to meet the users needs. This method has become a great way of “buying” customers, which is essentially what every business does when they advertise. If you compare the cost of customer acquisition online to the equivalent amount of high street advertising, you will see that online, it is far more cost effective.

The companies that position themselves now by increasing their spend on marketing and promotion are the companies that will weather the storm of recession. The economy is forecast to contract by 3.5% this year before returning to some mythical Darling growth forecast in 2010. Whether this happens or not, is not the subject of this article, but if we see growth in 2010 then this will be the shortest, least damaging slump on record. After all, with 7% unemployment, we still have 93% in work, shopping and spending money.

Intelligent business owners in the country will be investing in market share during the slump during which time their competitors will be struggling to survive. Some companies are still growing in spite of the downturn, in order to be one of them, it’s as simple as moving with the times and taking advantage of the online oppertunities that are available.

It is said that in times of economic boom, every 10 you spend on adverts, you will return 19, in an economic dry spell however, you will return 51 for every 10 spent on advertising. This is because during a recession there are fewer businesses advertising, therefore there are more potential customers to be had with every advert.

The options available to increase website traffic include search engine optimization, which is the practice of positioning your website at or near the top of the Organic search engine rankings, primarily Google which accounts for over 80% of all search traffic. Pay Per Click Management involves positioning your website at or near the top of Googles paid listings. This is a near instant process unlike search engine optimization, but does depend upon you paying a sum each and every time your advert is clicked upon.

Combine both of the above with an email newsletter to keep your clients informed with what you are up to, a blog and article submission and you will build your self an online presence that will ensure that your company survives and thrives the current downturn.

8 Proven Link Building Techniques

May 18, 2009 by Mark Adams

Every website owner knows there is no question about it, the more links to their sites, the higher their rankings in Google, Yahoo, and MSN will be. Here are eight ways site owners can get those links.

1. Requesting links: it’s time consuming but it does work. If you have a site with good content, you may be able to get some one-way links. Generally, however, you will need to reciprocate.

2. Submitting your site to directories can result in your obtaining a lot of links in a relatively brief period of time. If you can get listed in dmoz.org, you may get an immediate rank boost. No other free directory is as important, but those with high Google PR, like the-big-brain, will also help your site.

3. All website owners should write and/or buy brief articles and submit them to article distribution websites. Each article should include an author biography (with your name and website URL), that will be run with the article. That way, every website that uses the artcle will generate a link. It is not uncommon for a single article to be picked up by 500 websites, thereby generating 500 links for the author’s website.

4. Press releases: you can write your own news releases or pay to have them written for you. Either way, be sure they include links to your websites. There are services that will send out your press releases to a few news outlets for free, or numerous outlets for a fee.

5. Unlike the other kind of writing which can generate links, blogging is very simple because you can write about nearly anything related to your website, and good blog posts need not be very long. All webmasters should have at least one blog, write a minimum of one post a week, and link from the blog(s) to their website(s). In addition to short articles, many bloggers post link exchange offers.

6. Many website owners have picked up lots of links from their listings on Facebook and similar sites.

7. Offer well written, informative articles to selected bloggers. By including an author’s box, as you would with any other kind of article, it is possible to pick up dozens of links on sites (blogs) likely to be read by people likely to be interested in your website.

8. Useful, relevant posts in guestbooks and on forums and blogs, with your URL in your signature, can produce many links with little effort. But, do not spam. Post only when you really have something of value to say.

Note that buying links has not been listed; and for good reason. Google and the other search engines discourage link buying and many search engine optimization professionals believe that webmasters who buy links may be subject to search engine penalties. The eight link building suggestions above are effective, and will not earn webmasters the wrath of the search engines.
