The Clicks and Conversions in Pay Per Click Marketing

One of the main objectives of business owners in using pay per click marketing is to get to the top position of the search engine results page. This is so because ranking high in the listing means getting very good chances of being seen by internet users who will eventually click their ads and visit their website. The higher the volume of traffic going to their website, the closer they will be to getting sales.
But pay per click is not just about getting that high volume of traffic to your site. The very essence of pay per click does not end in getting traffic to your site but it is about conversion. So, what is conversion and what is its main role in the pay per click marketing?
Conversion happens when an online surfer visits your website and takes some actions you are expecting him to do. In pay per click, you do not want site visitors to just click on your ad, take a short glimpse of your site and leave without doing anything on the site.
If for example you have an online store, then the conversions that may happen in the site will involve the users making a direct purchase, the user downloading a service or the user completing the sales inquiry form. Simple visits will mean that the user enters and leaves unnoticed.
It should be remembered that the conversion doesn’t actually mean that it is a sale. Conversion may have other meanings too, and this will include user activities that may be worth something to the business and to you.
It is along this line that you should also think about what to expect out of your site visitors. Before engaging into pay per click, it is also wise to determine the target results that you want to get out of these online visitors. If that cannot be established, investing in PPC might not be a good idea.
To assess how pay per click works for your business, it is recommended to keep track and monitor conversion from pay per click sources. Major search engines like Google however provide tools that you can use in tracking. Google Analytics is one. With this tool, you can determine the conversions of pay per click in your site.
Even if you do not have tracking tools, you can always make use of a spreadsheet and keep track total conversions in a day. You can then assess if there has been a change in the conversions after adopting pay per click. If none, it could be a sign to revise strategies.
The Essentials of PPC Advertising

The internet offers many ways to earn money as more and more people are doing transactions online. Among the many ways to make money online are bidding, online sales, affiliate marketing, advertising and the most popular, pay per click marketing.
Pay per click marketing or PPC works as an advertising tool on the internet. It is a popular tool used online together with some other online advertising techniques and tools such as search engine optimization (SEO), Google Adwords, SEO networks and blogs.
Pay per click marketing is an important online advertising tool. Online businesses and websites often use it to promote their businesses and their websites. In offline advertising, most companies use billboards, newspapers, television and radio commercials, pamphlets and flyers and other creative means. Businesses who want to advertise on these methods pay the advertisers for displaying their ads or logos, or for airing or printing their ads.
In the internet, advertising is usually done in websites where website owners allocate a space for ads, logos and links of those who want to advertise. In the physical world, advertising is done and cost is determined by the number of minutes an ad is aired on television or radio or the space used in a newspaper or the size of the billboard.
Over the internet, the impact of advertising is difficult to measure. Businesses will find it hard to know the number of people who will see the advertisement. There may be ways to find out how many visitors a website has but the number of people who have actually seen the ad will be difficult to check.
In order for business owners and companies to not spend on advertising with an immeasurable impact, it was conceptualized that business owners should pay only if online surfers actually clicked the link or the ad. This will give the business owner the idea that the online reader was interested in the business. This is how the idea of pay per click marketing started.
So, in PPC, the website owner earns money every time the advertisement on his website is clicked. But a problem occurs when owners click their ad many times to earn more.
PPC marketing was also designed to prevent fraud. Codes are generated from websites so that the companies and businesses can determine if the clicks on the ad are unique and are not clicks from the website owner himself. This also makes PPC marketing an effective advertising tool as businesses will know that their ad was actually read and visited.
Creating Yourself A Presence On The Web

It’s probably the biggest information sharing medium in history, over 1.3 billion people use it, yes you guessed it, I’m talking of course about the Internet.
It is the ideal place to go to buy/sell things, to conduct research, to contact people and to do an endless list of other things. There are hundreds of traditional methods of doing things that are slowly being phased out by the Internet.
So surely if the Internet is that big it’s nearly impossible to obtain a noticeable presence without getting lost among the crowd?
To be honest yes, this is exactly the case. The Internet is so vast that it has almost become a double edged blade in that, yes there are millions of customers out there to be had, but the chances are that there are a million other people trying to get them and you will be lost among the crowd. Or if you simply don’t bother with an on-line presence and stick to traditional methods, you may well get sunk by the competition that do use on-line techniques.
But with all the fast moving new technology on the internet, how do you stay afloat? Well, step one goes without saying, create a web site, or get one created for you.
Just having a website though, is not enough to get you noticed online. Hundreds of millions of people have websites and you need to get yours noticed above the others.
One method of achieving this is to employ an effective advertising plan, placing ads for your website in as many places on the web as possible. You will also want a top search engine optimization service. If you intend to get someone to build your site for you, I suggest getting someone who knows about SEO to do it so that they will make it readable to search engines which is really, the most important thing in promoting a website.
In conclusion, in order to acquire a great presence on the net, there are a few slightly varied ways of doing it, but they all boil down to pretty much the same thing, search engine optimisation and online advertising. Finding an SEO company that will build you a site as well as optimising it for you may cost a bit more than you wanted to spend (but it may not) but I really would advise it over any other way. After that you simply have to find some good advertising space, preferably that offers you something else as well, like a load of links to your site or something.

For a small business or an internet business to become successful, they would need to put time and effort in improving their website traffic so that it can easily be found by their potential customers. If they have a higher traffic rate then they can earn more from their business.
It is crucial indeed for a business to let its market know that it exists. In the online world, traffic to the business’ website, if properly generated, equates to potential customers, and traffic can be increased in many ways. One of this is through search engine optimization or SEO.
In SEO, keywords are placed in strategic areas of the website so that search engines can rank the website higher in the search results page. If a website gets high rankings, it would be more visible to many online surfers and eventually generate high volume of traffic. However, SEO can be expensive. A cheaper alternative that best suits small businesses and other online businesses as well is the use of Google Adwords.
It is no doubt that Google is the widely used search engine in the internet, and their Google Adwords tool allows businesses to post their links so that traffic can be generated to websites in no time.
This allows businesses to bid for keywords and post links to Google. When these links are clicked, the online surfer then will be redirected to the business’ website. It is only when an online user clicks on the link that businesses will pay for the advertising cost. This is the pay per click arrangement. This is not only done in Google but also done by other websites too.
In Google Adwords, the business can determine how effective are its keywords, or how effective is its campaign in getting traffic to its website.
When placing links in other websites, one should be careful and choose wisely. He or she should only go with websites that are also related to the business because if not, the chances are the people who visit that website are not interested in your advertisement. This is the beauty of using Adwords. The link or advertisement to your website becomes available to the internet surfer if that person searches for your keyword.
Pay per click advertising through Google Adwords is cheaper compared to other tools used in generating traffic, so small businesses and other online businesses can actually make use of this in reaching out to potential customers online.

It is possible to make a lot of money over the internet and now many people have turned to this opportunity because of the economy’s downturn. The most popular way to earn from this is to make use of Pay Per Click advertisements in your website.
For a website owner, engaging into the pay per click marketing means allowing businesses to post their banners, ads and links in your website. When online users click on these ads, they will be directed to the businesses’ website. The business owners will then pay you in every click of his ad.
It would be fun if it was that simple and easy to do, but unfortunately, there is more to it than just that. In order to entice other websites to advertise in your website with a PPC setup, then your website must have a certain degree of popularity as well.
Having a popular website, which means you have a large number of readers or visitors, would mean more businesses willing to put their ads on your site. This will also lead to business owners willing to give you a higher rate per click of their banners and links.
To earn from pay per click, you need to aim for higher number of site visitors and target to get higher rankings in the search engines. To get maximum profits, your site should be ranked from the third spot or better. In order to get that ranking, you need to employ search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. This is your key to earning high in pay per click.
One thing you can also do to increase site visitors is advertising. If you engage in advertising to get more visitors, wisely select the site that has the same subject matter with yours. This will give you higher chances that online readers are interested to visit your site as well.
In other words, to generate more income from advertising, you need to advertise your own website too. After gaining much popularity and website traffic, then you will be able to earn more than ever.
At times, it pays not to do things hurriedly. All these techniques should also be done wisely and strategically. This includes the strategic placement of links by looking at effective methods like Google Adwords.
How to Design a Website Effectively When Advertising for Lawyers

Using your website to generate more clients can be a very good source of advertising for lawyers. I want to address how multiple calls to action will increase the number of prospects your website will produce.
When advertising for lawyers on the web, be sure to use multiple calls to action: Different people respond to different stimuli
Since we don’t know what others will find appealing it is important to provide different ways for an individual to contact us. We have to remember that what appeals to us will not attract the attention of someone else.
As an illustration, say I want to write a guide that appeals to people with legal problems in my field of practice. What I need to do is display a professional looking graphic of the guide which also is a link to download page where a prospect receives the guide in exchange for contact information. In addition, I will write a short sentence underneath the graphic which links to the same download page. This way, I will capture people that wish to click on the picture as well as the text.
Another idea is to display your phone number, an offer such as a free case evaluation, and a picture with the same offer on more than just the contact us page of your website. This way a prospect that wants to speak with a lawyer right now can do so. Often potential clients will be at different stages of the process, by providing different methods of contacting you, more site visitors will convert to prospects.
“If a prospect wants to contact me they go to my contact us page!”
Although you should have a contact page which contains all of your relevant information on it, you also need to offer your site visitors a reason to get a hold of you. Think what’s in it for them. WHY should they contact you? When you offer them legitimate reasons such as a free e-book or free consultation, then you are appealing to the reasons they WANT to contact you.
By implementing these ideas on your website, you will see how effective advertising for lawyers through the web can be.
6 Crucial Steps to choosing the right marketing partner for growth.

In this ‘do more with less’ economy, is there a way that a smaller or medium-sized company can tap into the marketing power that the big guys are paying for? You bet there is. This is the perfect time to discover a Lean and Mean Marketing provider willing to add fuel to your entrepreneurial spirit. Here’s how to choose the most effective marketing partner in this lean and mean economy:
Unearth the track records of the agency principals. Were they performing at a Director’s level – and if so, for how long? Too long, and they may be out of touch with the trends of customized marketing solutions. On the other hand, if the ink had not yet dried on their new business cards, they may not have the marketing insight you need.
Look beyond clever headlines. These are the price of entry in the advertising world, and if their portfolio does not include solid SEO copywriting services, customized marketing solutions and a proven track record in measured results, keep looking.
Avoid victims. If a new agency still has a bitter pill that’s only half swallowed from a bad break, they may not be ready to move on and focus on your business. Who has time to wallow? You need clear and focused marketing insight, surrounded by positive energy.
Seek out leadership skills. Chances are, you may find a big agency-trained marketing director or top level creative director who is poised to establish their own business. Take it from me – you need to take full advantage of this opportunity! If you are fortunate enough to get experienced customized marketing solutions for your start-up from the person formerly in charge of a big national brand, it’s your lucky day.
Beware the SEO Guru, and examine their claims carefully. Instead, seek out effective SEO copywriting services by taking an optimization tour of the websites optimized by this person or company. Like the jackalope, true SEO Guru’s are difficult to identify, because tracking the results of qualified SEO copywriting services is new, and a little imprecise. After all, web lift and traffic increases at your site may not happen for months, you need to choose wisely.
Work with folks who learn about, then get excited about your product or service. The best ad guys and marketing professionals live to match up people with services or products that make their lives better. This makes them very responsive to new products, and usually pretty fun to be around. If you find someone who’s fitting you in between the ‘real clients’, move on. An engaged marketing professional will bring incredible value and marketing insight, beyond your greatest expectations.
This is the day of the new entrepreneur. The best marketing professionals keep their eyes open for intriguing products and services that break away from corporate limits. And companies that discover a lean and mean marketing partner are in a great position for phenomenal growth – even in a challenging economy like the one we’re experiencing now.
What is Good about Pay Per Click Marketing

A high volume of traffic is what you will get if the pay per click marketing is properly implemented. If this is the main reason too why business owners look at this form of marketing in a positive way. And if you are a site owner who owns a semi-dormant site that needs a boost then this form of marketing is suggested.
The operation of this system is easy. If you have the financial muscle and you spend enough, then you can get better placement on major search engines. This means that potential customers and web surfers will see your PPC listing first and there will be a bigger probability that they will click on the site.
Another thing that is good about pay per click marketing is that, it is flexible and adjustable and can work so quickly you can see results even after you sign up for a PPC account.
Flexibility in doing pay per click advertising is also very favorable for advertisers and online marketers. With PPC campaigns being changeable, you can adjust and improve your campaign in no time and save you money in testing your marketing campaign.
When engaged in PPC marketing, a good market research will help you find services that are not costly and those that are priced just reasonably.
Finding better niches is also an advantage in doing good market research. It would also be an added benefit if you will be able to find keyword niches that cost cheaply. Others may even cost a less than a dollar.
With these capabilities of pay per click marketing, it could be something you cannot afford to disregard. There are many marketing options as well, but pay per click has not gained popularity for nothing. Pay per click has been known to create traffic in no time, at a cheaper price.
Aside from all these, there may be other good reasons that will make you love PPC even more. However, there are also downsides to this marketing tool. Nevertheless, if you will learn to deal with it and weigh it according to its costs and benefits, you might be able to carry out this marketing option to your advantage.
Get Listed on the First Page of Google for Free – Just by Filling Out a Form! Sound Too Good to be True?
For the last week, I’ve been away from the office, vacationing in a city I don’t know very well. To navigate the city, I like to use Google Maps, which also helps me find the places I’m looking for. If I’m looking for wi-fi, groceries, bars, pizza, or coffee, I can find the closest location pretty quickly by searching on Google Maps. What about the businesses that aren’t listed there? There’s no way I would know they existed, which lends itself to this article topic about listing your business on Google Maps and Yahoo Local. Not only will your business show up when your potential client searches using Google Maps or Yahoo Local, but a partial list is also displayed at the top of the normal organic search listings. This is key.
If you want to grow your business by targeting search traffic, it’s essential to get your business listed on Google Maps and Yahoo Local. It also comes with a very appealing price tag – free.
So what exactly does it mean to have a local listing anyway? Let me show you. Search on Yahoo for ‘Portland Graphic Design.’ When you use a metropolitan or regional name in your search, it knows you’re location-sensitive, and returns a list of the businesses in that area. It generates this list from its Yahoo Local database. Looking at the results for ‘Portland Graphic Design,’ my company, Vanivo, appears as the second listing. The same thing happens on the Google search results page, and these links account for a large percentage of our website traffic for these keywords. As you can see, a free, easy-to-create listing is an excellent way to increase your customer base.
It’s a very simple process to get your business listed in these local directories:
Create a Business Listing using Google Maps:
1. Head over to the ‘Google Maps Local Business Center’ (just Google it) and sign in (or sign up). 2. You want to ‘Add a New Listing’ so click the appropriate button. 3. Enter all the info you can about your company, and be generous with your keywords, especially in the title. Use proper grammar and professional sentences. 4. You’ll have to verify the address before they’ll post your listing, and the way they do this is to send a postcard with a special code to the address you gave them. It can take a few weeks for this process. 5. When you receive the postcard, sign in to your Google account and enter it to confirm your address. 6. Your listing should become active very soon (within a few hours, maybe a day or two), so make sure all your information is correct, and include a photo (your logo or trademark product) for extra effect.
How to use Yahoo Local to promote your business:
1. Easier than the Google set up, Yahoo skips the address verification process, but hides the link for adding your business. Go to local.yahoo.com and scroll down to the footer links section at the bottom. Click ‘Add a Business’ which is in the second column. 2. Enter all your company’s info, including the optional, additional information, and send it off. 3. At their leisure, the friendly folks at Yahoo will take a look at that info and list your business. It’s that simple.
ESSENTIAL TIP: To get listed higher in Google/Yahoo Local Results, rent a mailbox in the downtown metro area where you are targeting, and use that as your address so you have a very central listing. We did this on accident, but found out it worked very much to our advantage to get listed higher.
After you’ve completed these steps, the next essential factor is to get some positive reviews next to your listing. This is HUGE for credibility – an invaluable asset on the Internet, and an eye-catching visual for searchers when they see 5 stars next to your business name. The easiest way to get these reviews is to ask your past clients to spend a couple minutes filling out the evaluation. You can also use these reviews as testimonials on your website.
Now you know how to grow your business using Yahoo Local and Google Maps. Go get listed, and as always, contact me if you have any questions – tony[at]vanivo[dot]com.
