Targeted Traffic: Why Is It Really Important for Your Business?

This is no longer true that any traffic will work for your business. It does not work this way any more. If some people insist that it’s still work they are trying to sell you something. Don’t be fooled. We live in the times of automation, and there is a dark side to it. You might not know this, but there are many scripts available on the internet that can be used to generate artificial hits. So you might think you’re getting a lot of traffic when in reality none of your visitors are humans. As a result, you don’t have any sales at all.

You should be specifically looking in obtaining a very targeted web traffic that works for your business. You need the visitors who have their credit cards ready and can’t wait to complete the purchase of whatever you are selling.

Just any kind of traffic that is looking for something that you are not offering and is on the way to get that stuff, is not going to buy what you are offering. They are not interested. They won’t join your list. The bottom line: you should not be aiming to get 1000 visitors who will stay for 2 seconds on your site and click away. You want 10 potential customers who have their credit cards ready and want to buy what you’re selling.

Therefore: you have to acquire not just traffic to your site but TARGETTED traffic. You want your visitors to look for the product or services you are offering and be ready to buy them. You do not want visitors who are surfing the web to get freebies that are similar to your product or service. You do not want visitors who are not going to use the products or actually can’t use it. You are not interested in visitors that are not interested in what you have to offer.

How to get such kind of traffic? Here are a few thoughts on attracting “hungry” or “interested” visitors:

1. Writing articles about your product and services. Focus on benefits verses features. Show how you can help them to ease their pain, make them feel good, earn more money, enjoy more family time, quit their 9 to 5 job, etc

2. Placing ads where customers could see them. Looks what your competitors are doing. This is an easy way to find some good spots for advertising your offer or website.

3. Making it easy to find your website by posting links in as many places as possible. But be aware of bad neighborhoods. Exchanging links with sites that have bad reputation with search engines can be a deadly mistake.

4. Posting information on blogs and forums where your customers spend time. Helping by providing useful advices and really good info on topics that are related to your products. This way people will start to listen to whatever you have to say, and will be more likely to check out your site.

You main objective should be to capture prospects and customers’ information for further marketing campaigns. At least they should give you their names and emails. And when it’s done don’t forget to actually using the list that you have built. You subscribers can seriously increase website traffic and bring substantial profits.
