Building a website is not an easy task and it takes a lot of work. Often people think that the moment they publish, that flocks of people are going to arrive at their site. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen that way ,and that’s what makes search engine optimization so very important. After all, the higher up you get in page rankings, the more likely your site will get noticed. SEO is the way the search engines learn about your website and determine what is important about them.
One thing you need to remember is to stay consistent. The search engines crawl over every page of your website. So you must be sure each one is presented properly for SEO.
Here are some ideas to help you get your web into good shape for SEO.
Add Keyword in Title: Include ONLY our main keywords. The least amount of words you can place in the title, the more weight Google will give to each of the keywords and the higher you will rank.
Header tags H1are where to place the key words. Then get that tag up as close as possible to the top of the page. Don’t make long drawn out headers. Keep them concise so they don’t get lost in the text.
Add Keywords in H2 header tags: This can be thought of as a sub heading for our webpage. You should place your 2nd most important keyword in the H2 header tag. The H2 tag should be placed somewhere towards the top half of your webpage
How often your keywords show on a page is important. That doesn’t mean that you can plaster them all over the page at random. Google will not approve of this. Key word density is dependant on how often the keyword shows in conjunction with the total number of words. The keywords must read as if they naturally belongs in the text.
Yahoo is partial to text consisting of keywords in bold or italics. Bold depicts that it is strong in meaning and the italics refers to emphasis. This is in reference to the tags found in the body or the posts in bogs.
Properly include ALT image tags: ALT image tags is the description of the image for search engine. You should always include the keyword in the alt tags to increase keyword dentisity, but not overdo it.
The tech that appears in your click on links is known as the anchor text.
Your Urls are very important as search engines take a look at the words used in these as well. So make sure you use URLs that you can include your keywords in.
Link navigation is also very important keep it as simple as possible by only needing a few clicks to get around your site. This assists the search engines in getting around as well.
However I have to point out that on page SEO is not as affective as off page SEO. You can read my another articles “How to Do Off Page SEO” if you are really serious about your website optimization.
