Article marketing can be a great way to drive traffic to your sites. High traffic article directories like EzineArticles get hundreds of thousands of visitors a day and and they allow you to submit your articles for free. So how do you get these surfers to take a look at your article? With a eye catching article headline of course.

The article title is your first opportunity to catch the attention of any visitors who are are searching for topics relevant to your article. A good article title will contain your keywords and be interesting enough that a visitor can’t wait to click and read what you have to say in your article. Remember, your article title is competing for views with everyone else so it is important that it stands out.

There are a several effective article headline types. Article marketers have tried them all and some work better than others. The three I discuss below are the ones that have worked the best for me:

The “In Your Face” title. Like the name suggests, this title confronts the reader and forces them to see what you have to say. A good example of this kind of title might be something like “You’ll Never Be Successful Until You Start Doing These 5 Things”.

The Shock And Awe title. This type of title tugs on a visitor’s emotions and tries to get a reaction out of them. If you achieve this, they will be persuaded to read your article. Make sure the title provokes either a strongly positive or strongly negative emotion. Either works effectively.

The “Do You Know What I Know” title. This title engages the reader by asking them a question and peaks their curiosity to hear your answer to it. Here is a good example of this title type, “Do You Know The Top 3 Methods To Seduce Women That The Gurus Will Never Ever Reveal?” Isn’t that the type of article you would want to read?

As you can tell, effective article titles are a must if you want to get people to read your articles. Just spend several extra minutes minutes to come up with better article titles and you will definitely start to see immediate results. Don’t forget to try out these suggestions for your next article.
